|AshÉ (previously known as Ashley Bea) is a coloratura soprano with a colorful, angelic voice and vivacious charm. She is a neo-future soul singer from Toronto who is often compared to other soul divas like Jill Scott, Janelle Monae and Erykah Badu. Drawing influence from her multi-genre vocal training with some of Toronto’s greatest coaches, she writes everything from jazz to country music. Over the last few years, AshÉ has achieved many milestones. She has released her first music video titled “Your eyes” on YouTube and was a recipient of the FACTOR “single grant” 2014. To date she has written over one hundred songs and performed with JUNO award winning artists. Once a terrified performer, she now helps others overcome their stage fright through coaching. Recently, she released an epic single titled “The Believer” on iTunes and is a touring backup vocalist for two funk bands. She can be seen working alongside small ensembles or a variety of big bands like PHATBACK. Pairing her soulful catchy melodies with the funky hip hop phatness that is Phatback, AshÉ adds an addictive sultry quality to the live shows. An unstoppable force on stage, she is a very warm musical personality who is a joy to watch.|
